Product Discontinuation of S7-300 / ET 200M Components

The phase-out of the Siemens S7-300 / ET 200M product series began in October 2023. These modules are among the most widely used components in the Siemens automation world.
The S7-1500 system and the SIMATIC ET 200 MP (Factory Automation) peripheral system as well as the SIMATIC S7-400 system and the SIMATIC ET 200SP HA (Process Automation) peripheral system are available as functional replacements for the SIMATIC S7-300 system and the ET 200M peripheral system.

The product is phased out in three phases:

Phase 1:

From 01.10.2023: Announcement of product phase-out (PM400).

  • Components are still available at list price without restriction
  • Components will no longer be actively marketed

Phase 2:

From 01.10.2025: Type discontinuation (PM410):

  • Components are only available as spare parts

Important note:
This means that the components will only be available via the Siemens spare parts service for repair exchange and can no longer be ordered regularly.

Phase 3:

Presumably from 2033: Discontinuation (PM490)

  • Exclusive handling of warranty cases with liability for defects

What happens now with your discontinued components?

Components that have already been installed can continue to be used without restriction. However, we recommend that you modernize your systems to increase their efficiency, reduce operating costs and extend their service life. In this way, you are effectively protected against system downtime and can ensure your availability. We support you in migrating your existing systems to an up-to-date system. You benefit from our decades of experience in the migration of existing S5, S7 and PCS 7 systems. Our services start with an inventory, and include consulting, planning, delivery, installation and recommissioning of your systems.
