Since its foundation in 1990, KRIKO has been working as a trusted partner with one of the world's largest pharmaceutical groups. 

KRIKO supports several of the group's sites, primarily with control technology, automation and IT solutions for the operation of infrastructure systems. This includes the generation and feed-in as well as distribution and supply of energy and media within the sites.

A management system for coordinating the heat generators in the low-temperature network (WEMP 40°C) was completed in time for the end of 2021. The system, which is located in the boiler house, is intended to ensure the heat supply of a total of 16 office, production and laboratory buildings and make the best possible use of the waste heat generated by the boiler and cooling systems by means of heat recovery. In the first expansion stage, it coordinates six systems for heat generation.

The overarching goal of the project is for the site to be CO2-neutral by 2030, and a major adjustment is seen in the conversion of all building heating systems from hot water to low temperature.
The newly installed system regulates the generator output based on a sliding differential pressure average for all buildings. The redundant SIMATIC S7-1517H system from Siemens was used as the central control unit for the management program. The connection to the Ethernet ring of the boiler house network was made via redundant network components. The visualization of the control and regulation tasks of the management was implemented in the WinCC SCADA system of the boiler house supplied by KRIKO.
